As the regulator of the electronic media sector, ALIA is called upon to give its opinion in the following cases:
- application for a concession for an audiovisual media service (television programme and on-demand service)
- application for a permission for a radio service with a high-power transmitter (national coverage radios),
- before the withdrawal of a concession or permission by the government.
ALIA’s opinions are of advisory nature.
The Authority may give its opinion in any other matter related to the regulation of audiovisual media services if it deems this to be necessary.
