As the regulator of the electronic media sector, ALIA is called upon to give its opinion in the following cases:
- application for a concession for an audiovisual media service (television programme and on-demand service)
- application for a permission for a radio service with a high-power transmitter (national coverage radios),
- before the withdrawal of a concession or permission by the government.
ALIA’s opinions are of advisory nature.
The Authority may give its opinion in any other matter related to the regulation of audio-visual media services if it deems this to be necessary.
