On October 16, 2025, ALIA took part in the colloquium organized by the Medienrat of the German-speaking Community of Belgium in Eupen. This event marked a double anniversary: 25 years since the creation of the Medienrat as an advisory body and 20 years since its transformation into a regulatory authority with decision-making powers.
Under the theme “Media regulators in the digital society: between content and network regulation”, the colloquium brought together experts, researchers, and representatives from various European regulatory authorities. The discussions focused on key issues: the role of regulators in a rapidly changing media landscape, the delicate balance between content regulation and digital infrastructure oversight, as well as the importance of cooperation between national and international bodies.
Beyond the celebrations, the colloquium served as a strategic platform for exchange, fostering collective reflection on the future missions and responsibilities of regulatory authorities.
