ALIA signs a cooperation agreement under the Digital Services Act

On 11 March 2025, the Luxembourg Independent Audiovisual Authority (ALIA) signed a cooperation agreement with several national authorities to ensure effective and coordinated implementation of the Digital Services Act (DSA). This agreement, concluded under the aegis of the Autorité de la Concurrence, defines the rules for collaboration between the various bodies responsible for regulating digital services in Luxembourg.

Under the DSA, ALIA actively contributes to the protection of minors and the integrity of elections in Luxembourg. As such, it will work closely with the Autorité de la concurrence, which acts as the Digital Services Coordinator (DSC).

Thanks to this agreement, exchanges between the various authorities involved – including the Commission nationale pour la protection des données (CNPD), the Direction de la protection des consommateurs (DPC), the Haut-Commissariat à la protection nationale (HCPN) and other partners – will be facilitated, ensuring better protection for users and consistent application of the DSA rules.

The Digital Services Act aims to combat the distribution of illegal and harmful content online, while ensuring a transparent and secure framework for digital platforms and their users.
