Appointment of the director of ALIA
Involvement of ALIA in accordance with the applicable legal provisions
The recruitment procedure for the director of ALIA, who is due to take up his post in September 2024, is currently ongoing in accordance with the provisions of the amended law of 27 July 1991 on electronic media.
The Authority’s Board of Directors has been actively involved in the process from the outset, making a contribution to the definition of the job profile to its satisfaction.
The Board is kept regularly informed of the progress of the process.
Its opinion will be sought at the end of the work of the selection committee set up by the Ministry of State, Media, Connectivity and Digital Policy Department (SMC).
The council is confident that it will work well with the SMC.
The ALIA board has not made any request for an extension of the term of office of its current director.
The reform of the law on audiovisual media currently under discussion will provide an opportunity to debate any useful improvements to ALIA’s governance and appointment procedures.
