Renewal of the terms of office of the members of the ALIA board of directors
Thierry Hoscheit (magistrate), who will once again chair the Authority, as well as Valérie Dupong (lawyer), Claude Wolf (retired journalist), Luc Weitzel (retired legal secretary at the Court of Justice of the EU), and Marc Glesener (consultant) have been reappointed to their respective positions for a period of five years.
Thierry Hoscheit and Paul H. Lorenz, director of ALIA, believe that the renewal of the mandates underlines both the importance that the Luxembourg Government attaches to the growing scope of the Authority’s missions and its appreciation of the expectations formulated by the Authority in the context of the in-depth reform of the law on electronic media.
The key elements to be integrated during this reform, which has been initiated in recent years, are reflected in the Authority’s ‘White Paper’ published in 2023. As the overhaul of the law has been expressly included in the coalition agreement between the CSV and the DP since November 2023, the Authority is committed to working closely with the Government in these discussions to ensure a modern regulatory framework that is adapted to the current challenges facing the audiovisual sector.
