Appel à candidatures (only available in French)
On World Radio Day, ALIA is launching a call for applications for the allocation of licenses for several local radio services.
Radio remains an essential medium for information, culture, and pluralism. Through this call, ALIA wishes to encourage the emergence of new radio projects capable of enriching the Luxembourg audio media landscape.
In this context, the Authority, in collaboration with the Luxembourg Regulatory Institute, has identified seven available frequencies offering non-profit associations (ASBLs) the opportunity to obtain a license to broadcast a local radio program.
Who can apply?
In accordance with the legal framework in force, licenses for local radio services can only be granted to ASBLs. Each association may be granted a single license, issued for a renewable period of ten years.
Please note that in order to be able to use the frequency indicated in the license, a license, issued in advance by the minister responsible for radiocommunications and radio spectrum management, is required.
What are the selection criteria?
ALIA will select beneficiaries based on the following criteria:
- the informational, cultural, and recreational value of the proposed radio service;
- the originality of the concept presented;
- the complementary nature of the radio service in relation to other media and existing radio services.
