Decisions

Any natural or legal person, be it a concerned citizen, an organisation or even another regulator, has the right to file a complaint with the Authority. This complaint may be motivated by a suspicion of non-compliance of an audiovisual or audio media service with the provisions of the applicable law or its specifications. In addition, the Authority itself can initiate an investigation (acting upon its own initiative) if it identifies a possible breach.

There are three levels of sanctions:

  • the reprimand
  • the reprimand with mandatory reading of a press release on the air
  • a fine reaching from 250 to 25,000 €

The decisions of the Authority can be appealed against before the administrative court.
