ALIA at the ‘Gen Z and Social Media’ conference at the University of Luxembourg

ALIA attended the “Gen Z and Social Media” conference, organised at the University of Luxembourg as part of the “Engaging Europe” series. This event was designed by students, for students, with the aim of addressing current issues relating to social media and digital usage.

The programme included several interactive workshops, notably:

  • Looksmaxxing & Underlying Ideologies
  • Algorithm & Dependence

Two guest speakers also presented the Digital Services Act (DSA) and its implications:

  • Camiel De Schutter, Digital Services Act Officer (Belgium)
  • Anne Calteux, European Commission representative in Luxembourg

The workshops, each lasting around 20 minutes, were followed by a final discussion with a Q&A session, encouraging dialogue between participants and speakers.

This conference provided a valuable forum for discussion on the digital practices of younger generations and the associated regulatory challenges.
