Media & Me – Content creators in Luxembourg

A live Q&A open to the public on 22 July

Organised by the Landesmedienanstalt Saarland (LMS) and supported by the Luxembourg Independent Audiovisual Authority (ALIA), a new edition of ‘Media & Me – Backstage bei Medienberufen’ will take place on 22 July 2026 in Luxembourg.

Every year, this event enables young media professionals to take a look behind the scenes at various careers in the sector. On this occasion, the second part of the event will, exceptionally, be open to the public.

This edition will focus on the profession of content creator: What does it mean to work in this field in Luxembourg today? What are the challenges? What advice can be given to those wishing to get started? What rules and laws must be observed?

Content creators now play an increasingly significant role in Luxembourg’s media and advertising landscape. Through their content on digital platforms, they help to inform, entertain and influence the behaviour of consumers and citizens.

This development is also reflected in the ongoing legislative discussions in Luxembourg. The proposed reform of media legislation (Bill No. 8625) aims to extend the ALIA’s remit to certain categories of content creators, particularly with regard to commercial transparency and the protection of the public.

Cecilia Said Vieira and Yannick Iannelli, two Luxembourg-based content creators, will share their experiences and answer questions from the audience during a live Q&A session.
The event will also provide an opportunity to discuss the responsibilities that come with this activity, particularly regarding advertising, commercial communication, public information and compliance with the legal framework applicable to content published online.
In this context, ALIA aims to foster an open dialogue with content creators, the media and the public in order to support developments in the sector and offer young people a realistic insight into the responsibilities, challenges and requirements involved in this activity.

The press and all interested parties are cordially invited to attend this event. Media representatives are particularly encouraged to take part in this discussion in order to gain a better understanding of developments in the digital media landscape and the future tasks that might be entrusted to ALIA in this field.
