On 13 July 2026, ALIA organised a briefing session for political parties on the new obligations arising from European legislative frameworks.
Discussions focused mainly on the European regulation on political advertising (TTPA), which applies beyond election periods, as well as on certain provisions of the Digital Services Act (DSA), with the participation of the Competition Authority.
The briefing session clarified the new requirements regarding the transparency of political advertising, the responsibilities of the various stakeholders (sponsors, service providers and publishers) and the rules on targeted advertising. It concluded with an update on generative artificial intelligence, deepfakes and the labelling requirements set out in the AI Act, in the context of the integrity of democratic debate.
This initiative is part of ALIA’s mission to provide support, and it will continue its awareness-raising activities among the relevant stakeholders.
